Tune Hotels – Rockstar Requests
Tune Hotels sits somewhere between a hostel and a hotel – while they're a fraction more expensive than a hostel, they provide the amenities of a hotel. However, their presence in Melbourne was relatively unknown, and they wanted a cost-effective, but highly PR-able idea to get their name out there.
Well, their name was Tune, so a music connection seemed obvious! And what does music and hotels have in common? The weird and whacky roadie requests.
The idea was simple: when you made a booking, you could make a 'Rockstar Request' – be it rose petals on your pillows, a framed picture of Taylor Swift on your bed stand or a bowl of M&Ms with no brown ones. Tune Hotels would then choose some, and make them happen!
The idea also tied in nicely with Tune Hotels' idea of bolting on extras to your trip to make it more enjoyable.
